Filming at Peckham Liberal Club, London’s number one retro filming and photography location
Peckham Liberal club is an old-school community members club based in Elm Grove. This incredible hidden gem has been a working establishment since 1911. Many people walk past the Peckham Liberal Club every day, unaware of its vast interiors and rich social history.
The interiors are quintessentially retro. The space has a magnificent hall with a sprung dance floor and stage, two bars, four full-sized snooker tables as well as a darts room and a garden. The 1970’s furniture, tiled ceilings, wood paneled walls and quilted booths are wonderfully nostalgic.
The site, which also includes a dilapidated, vacant apartment located over two floors above the club, is available for mid-week and weekend filming.
The venue has secured hires from high profile productions including Grantchester, The Current War, In The Long Run, Humans and The Capture, as well as featuring heavily in Elton John biopic Rocketman. The venue has also been a film favourite of commercials and music promos.
It was recently selected for a GQ shoot featuring none other than England’s very own Marvel superhero, Tom Holland. The location was the perfect choice for Sharif Hamza’s playful, vintage photoshoot.
Peckham Liberal Club was also the setting for Jesy Nelson’s new music video ‘Bad Thing’.
