Building a period drama landmark
Langleybury Mansion is a vacant 18th century manor house with beautiful period interiors and exteriors just outside the M25 towards the north west of London. The site is the property of Ralph Trustees Limited, owners and operators of The Athenaeum in Mayfair, The Grove in Hertfordshire and The Runnymede-on-Thames in Egham.
The owners first approached us in 2012 looking for short term revenue generating opportunities, and a means of preventing squatting and vandalism on site, whilst they worked on their long-term development plans.
Under the care of Location Collective, working closely with the on-site team who manage the wider site, Langleybury has become a hugely popular ‘go-to’ period filming location and production base for the film industry, particularly TV drama. Over the course of our first seven years working with Ralph Trustees, we have consistently secured high calibre film productions, particularly TV dramas, many of which have based their full production at Langleybury for anything from three to six months or more at a time. Production highlights have included Endeavour, Paddington, Grantchester, Downton Abbey, The Crown, Kingsman 2, Harlots, Men in Black and The Little Stranger.
Location Collective have generated £6,000,000+ in filming revenue at Langleybury. In addition, the status that Langleybury has gained as a filming location means that the site has generated positive PR for Ralph Trustees Limited and helped them forge relationships with the local community, both of which will help ensure that future plans for the site are positively received.
We have enjoyed a long and extremely successful working relationship with Location Collective who have taken brilliant care of Langleybury Mansion throughout our partnership, consistently and proactively placing Langleybury front and centre with the film industry to make the site truly iconic as a filming location. They have effectively managed a diary of multiple filming ‘pencils’, have ensured productions take good care of the site, and have worked closely with our on-site team to ensure hires go smoothly. I have no doubt we are in the safest possible hands for filming with the Location Collective team.
