The Challenge

West Horsley Place is a beautiful, vacant manor house in Surrey owned by Mary Roxburghe Trust. The trust approached Location Collective in 2015. They were looking for ways to help finance restoration of the Grade I listed building and hoping to attract funding to establish West Horsley Place as an arts and cultural hub within the county of Surrey.

Solution

In four years, Location Collective have generated over £700k in filming revenue at West Horsley Place, meaning that filming has made a significant contribution to the site’s preservation and restoration. Hires have been secured during this time with Gucci, The Durrells, The Crown, Mulberry, Silent Witness, Howard’s End, Vanity Fair and Ghosts.

Whilst filming continues to raise the profile of West Horsley Place, the manor house is fast becoming a vibrant centre for the local community, with weddings and a series of public events now hosted on site on a regular basis. Plans are well under way for the site to fulfil its vision of becoming a centre for the arts.

The team at Location Collective have made a great contribution to helping us achieve our long-term ambitions for West Horsley Place. They are knowledgeable and helpful, and seem to have their fingers very much on the pulse of what is happening in the film world. We have secured some fantastic hires under their care.
